Shqipo's Virtual Mumblings

Shqipo's personal blog, about anything and nothing.

Huh?

I got this chain email below from a friend of mine I haven't seen in a long time. I was quite surprised to receive this from her but, I guess people change. I will not comment on this one, although I wasn't aware that ACLU was trying to get rid of Christmas:

Subject: Christmas Cards???

Yes, Christmas cards. This is coming early (really early) so that you can get ready to include an important address to our list.Read on........

What a GREAT idea!Fun with the ACLU......(American Liberties Civil Union)Wanna have some fun this CHRISTMAS? Send the ACLU a CHRISTMAS CARD this year.

As they are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all send them a nice, CHRISTIAN, card to brighten up their dark, sad, little world.
Make sure it says "Merry Christmas" on it.

Here's the Address, just don't be rude or crude. (It's Not the Christian Way, you know!)

ACLU
125 Broad Street
18th Floor
New York, NY 10004

Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions. So spend 39 cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone. Also tell them that there is no such thing as a "Holiday Tree". . . . It's a Christmas Tree even in the fields!!

And pass this on to your email lists. We really want to communicate with the ACLU! They really DESERVE us!!

That's funny. I have a holiday tree because I am not christian but still celebrate the holiday season per the traditions of my family. hmmm.I say call it christmas if you want. I call it the holidays. Works for me. One of the wonderful things about this country is the whole freedom of speech and religion thing.
Sadly, that means chain letters too.

I'll call Dec. 24-25 Christmas, cause that's what it is, and I'll call Dec31-Jan 1 New Year.

Actually, the ACLU has defended the right of people to Christmas Carol. They have also tried to remove religious symbolism from government buildings.

Your friend is wrong, and should get her facts straight.
