Children

Monday, April 24, 2006
I didn't quite understand the parents-children bond until I became a father myself. And I can't say I've truly appreciated what my parents have done for me.

It's amazing what sacrifices some parents have to make for their children... .

Free sex!

I know that would catch your attention. But that's not the reason why I wrote that title. Someone was actually offering something like that. I couldn't stop laughing! I think those ladies who fell for it should not complain a bit and be embarrassed of their stupidity! Who in the right mind would accept a "free" breast exam from a traveling doctor?!

Age difference

Tonight one student on one of my online classes that I teach revealed that her husband was 75 years old and felt lonely when she attended class. Since this is an online class, I've never seen this lady so I was quite puzzled when she said how old her husband was. Thinking that they'd be a couple of years apart, I was trying to understand what would push a lady in her 70s to get a bachelor's degree now. It looks like I wasn't the only one who was puzzled cause one of the students asked her about her age and she's 47.

What would make a woman get married to a man 30 years older? How well do these relationships go?

How many Anna Nicole Smiths are out there?

So pathetic!

This crap made the top news of MSN.com. What is wrong with media? I guess the passer-by said it right "Slow news week, huh?" http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12306100/

I don't even know where to start commenting on this, so I better leave it blank: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7279844/did/12287818?GT1=7938

Uh-huh...

According to news, a lawyer claims the stripper who has stirred up men's lacrosse team at Duke U. came in with bruises and scrapes on her legs. If those claims are true, I think it should embarrass those cocky rich lacrosse boys even more! Seriously, what kind of turn on is it to see some bruised up skank dance and strip in front of you? Honestly, I don't even want to imagine, I'm about to vomit. That's like the lowest of the back-alley prostitutes you can find in big cities! Yikes!

The best part is this stripper's father who is the best display of parental love: "My skanky stripper daughter told the truth."

Moments

There's something special watching the sun rise on a crisp Spring morning. I can't pinpoint exactly what it is, but it's a positive feeling nonetheless, making one (that would be me) forget having to wake up at 6 AM on a Saturday morning to teach till 6 PM. It's a fulfilling, comforting and even "motivational" sensation. Having some good music playing on the background surely makes it even better.

It could be Spring's overall atmosphere, mixed with the inner desire for Winter to go away. It's hard to explain.

Sometimes I wish I could stop on the shoulder of the highway and just look straight at the sun and enjoy its crisp warmth and blinding light. I would try to inhale it all (not the Clintonian type of inhaling) but it's too much, and time races by, reminding me of obligations to show up on time at work. Instead, I try to enjoy as much as I can through my car's windshield - and look out for stupid drivers.

I do need to stop and enjoy moments like these.
